IN RESONANCE

"Already up to this point, it was clear that Christoph Prégardien had made the perfect choice of accompanist in Aaron Wajnberg. The pianist assists the singing sensitively and yet often enough finds the courage to set his own accents. The icy finale with the "Leiermann" becomes the highlight of the recital, which is followed by a short melodrama as an encore. Very impressive!" Martin Köhl, ART.5/III

"In Aaron Wajnberg, Ian Bostridge had an attentive partner who was perfectly on the same wavelength" Lucrèce Maeckelbergh, Klassiek-Centraal

MUSICAL JOURNEY

"I had the great honour and joy of working alongside Aäron as we prepared for the world premiere of my song cycle Nezahualcoyotl Ixochitlajtol, as well as a performance of my Shakespeare song Come Away, Death with Mexican tenor Rolando Villazon in 2022. His enthusiasm and curiosity for 20th/21st century music expresses itself in equal-parts artistic and scientific excellence. Aäron possesses an ability to perceive even the most complex musical architecture and virtuosic writing and wed it to a world-class level of aesthetic beauty and musicality; this is truly a rare thing.

His warm-hearted curiosity made him an ideal collaborative partner as we polished the piece together, and I believe this also fuelled his conscientious work-ethic, such that he had already memorised enormous swathes of the (often very complex) music before we began discussing the performance approach.

His musicality, generosity and dedication make him a stand-out colleague that marks him out as a gem among anyone lucky enough to call him a colleague. I personally very much look forward to collaborating with him again in the future."
